Dr. Michael Megaly is a board-certified (American Board of Internal Medicine) interventional cardiologist who corrects chronic total occlusion (CTO) for patients with complex heart conditions.
After earning his medical degree from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt, Dr. Megaly completed his cardiology training at Minneapolis Heart Institute and Hennepin Healthcare in Minnesota. This was followed by an interventional cardiology fellowship at University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix where he now holds a clinical instructor faculty position. Dr. Megaly completed a complex coronary and CTO intervention fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, one of only five such programs in the United States.
He focuses on the treatment of complex coronary artery disease, which encompasses high-risk patients with heavily calcified vessels, multivessel disease and chronic total occlusions.
Dr. Megaly has authored or co-authored more than 150 manuscripts and has written multiple chapters in different CTO intervention books. He is an associate board member, editor and peer reviewer for prestigious interventional cardiology journals. He has presented as a faculty member and an expert panelist at multiple prestigious interventional cardiology conferences.
